Wilder Ranch State Park is located about 2 miles west of Santa Cruz. It runs out to the cliffs where Monterey Bay meets the Pacific and runs up thru the redwoods to Gray Whale Ranch, which connects to the UCSC campus. Wilder Ranch ceased operations in the 1950s, but fortunately the buildings and old equipment are preserved so that younger generations can get a glimpse of farm life.
