Arana Gulch is a few acre tract of undeveloped land to the north of the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. It is home to some rare native plants on the elevated fields shown here. To the east is the actual gulch, home to a variety of waterfowl. However, the most prominent part of Arana Gulch is actually a long north-south ridge which lies west of the gulch. You can access Arana Gulch either from the upper yacht harbor or from Soquel Ave. at the Foster Freeze. The City of Santa Cruz owns part of the land, the rest is County property.
